I'm Kristy, your local miracle maker ... I mean, whisk taker ... I mean, cottage Baker...
I suppose my passion for baking was handed down for generations on my mother's side, with my great-grandparents opening White Way Lunch in 1929, a family run business for 56 years. My taste for alcohol came from my Daddy and his love of 'the good stuff.'
As for my cake decorating, that has been self-taught the entire way and it all stems from my desire to be the one who made my daughter's birthday cakes, which then turned into a desire to make the best baked goods I could. I craft custom cakes, breads and pastries for all of your special occasions, from holidays, to birthdays to 'just because' moments.
My specialty, of course, is the White Way bread, made just like my family has always made it. Also gaining in popularity among my returning customers are my cakes, cupcakes and booze-infused creations.
Generations in the making ....
In 1929, my great-grandparents, George and Mary White, started a family restaurant called 'White Way Lunch,' which showcased their signature White Way bread, a 'depression' bread recipe known for its exceptional quality and taste. People came from miles around to buy their locally famous bread. The love and passion for baking grew and spread for generations.
This historic recipe has been passed down through generations, and I'm proud to continue the tradition, baking it the "White Way."
